Living Spaces | Library

This client is a bookkeeper and needed a lot of file storage and has a large amount of books. She purchased these bookcases, from me, with the file drawer options on the bases to meet her needs. We spent 2 hours going through her home to pull together her books and all the treasures from her travels and travel gifts from friends to use in these great units. In that time frame I was able to pull the things together and place it all in her new library. This new library was her old dining room. She hated the dining room and never used it so the library was the answer to her storage issues and ridding her of a very unused space in her home. We will soon add an area rug and some comfy chairs and ottomans to make it her new favorite room.

Staging | Glencoe

The decluttered mantle lets the fireplace be the star of the show. Note how the perimeter of this room has been cleared and personal items removed.

The red and yellow dining room was repainted in a buyer-friendly neutral. All clutter around the perimeter of this room is now gone. Once the heavy, outdated drapes were removed, the light poured in.

A neutralized color palette instantly modernized this kitchen. New knobs, new counter tops, and new appliances completed the kitchen update.

Navy blue walls are now neutral. Heavy curtains were moved to let the light pour in. We added two chairs facing the fireplace so prospective buyers could see how to make the most of a bedroom fireplace.

Bathroom | Powder room

We extended the hardwood floors from the entry way into the powder room, replacing the white floor tile.

After: An integrated glass top and sink give the room more storage and warmth than the pedestal sink did.

Bathroom | Seaside Spa

Using larger tiles on the walls and floors makes the room look more spacious. By moving the toilet we created space for a wider, deeper soaking tub.

Before
Before: We removed a wall and changed the entrance to this master bathroom.
Before: The small vanity nook for makeup did not offer enough space.
Before: Taking out the extra wall and moving the door to the outside wall enlarged the space and increased the functionality of this master bathroom.
After: A new floating vanity with under-cabinet lighting creates a more open feel.
A contemporary chrome and glass light fixture adds finish to the new look.
The vessel porcelain sink with a glass counter top looks sleek. The single-lever chrome faucet gives a spa-like quality. We formed a custom frame for a mirror by echoing the backsplash tile and deco tile from the shower.
This built-in niche stores shampoo and body wash.
Inspired by St. Martin, the owner wanted a seaside spa-like feel in the bathroom and a way to display treasures from island travels.

Outdoor Living | Laurelford Outdoors

The customer wanted an outdoor space that worked for a cozy family gathering or a large group. The gas fire pit is everyone’s favorite spot.

This is the perfect outdoor space for the sports fans who want to watch the game on the big screen.

This area is ideal for a family or intimate gathering.

Notice how we balanced the need for intimacy with the demands of a large crowd celebrating life’s momentous occasions.
The cushions were custom fit to the curvature of this stone bench. The comfy pillows invite you to enjoy the sound of rippling water sounds and the glow of the fireplace.

The 60-inch custom teak table features a lazy Susan. With a little teak oil, the natural wood tones will endure without taking on a gray patina.
The adjustable double chaise is a great place to sit alone or with a companion to admire the water feature. The side table has a custom-fit granite top for drinks and snacks.
Custom cushions and pillows fit around the fire pit and endure the elements. The gas fire pit adds warmth and encourages community during the cool months. An eleven-foot umbrella shields from sun or rain during the summer.
Since we needed a high top table, we took an existing cocktail table design and customized it to bar height proportions. The bar stools were customized to larger proportions for more comfortable seating. The result is a space that’s large enough for intimate family dining or as overflow when entertaining.
The entertainment bar comfortably seats 5 to 6. Custom teak doors conceal refrigerators. Bar stools match the scale of bar and swivel for comfort.

Bath | Boys Beach Bath

What boy wouldn’t enjoy a beach mural in his bathroom? Nautical accessories on the windowsill and radiator cover enhance the seaside theme. Painted wooden shutters transform the bathroom cabinet. This bath project along with the bedroom was featured in several design publications.

Living Spaces | Sea Side

This bedroom project along with the bathroom was featured in several design publications. The fireplace was not a working fireplace, so we put a custom book shelf in and a reading area nearby. Oars were transformed into a bedside table in the bedroom and towel rack in the bath.

Roman shades with ribbon accents and a lighthouse-themed fabric are sophisticated and charming at the same time. This boy’s bed-and-bath combo appeals to a wide age range. For young boys, it invites pirate accessories. For older boys, the same look can be transformed into a speedboat or surfer theme.

The soft blue on the walls brings to mind the color of sky and ocean.

Staging | Kinley

Nearly all personal items were removed from every room.

Dark plum walls were neutralized. A decluttered and sparkling clean kitchen is a must.

We removed a lot of furniture—the walls were lined with it. Remaining furniture was arranged to make clear how the space could be used. People often need help visualizing how furniture can be arranged in front of a fireplace.

Sawyer - Client’s Request: Replace Deteriorating Siding - Hardie Plank siding and stone replace the worn and moldy pseudo-stucco and white brick façade. New tiles on the porch complement the stone siding.

Office | Greyson Valley

Client’s Request: Replace a Hodge-Podge of Styles and Colors - We cut out part of the blue wall-to-wall carpet and put the Persian rug into the cut out. Keeps the rug from “riding around” the room.

We refinished this light oak table to cherry for a better blend with wood finishes elsewhere in the building. This carpet was created from two commercial grade carpets. In all, we put 600 yards of carpet in this building!

Over the years, this office building had become a jumble of color schemes. We created continuity using burgundy, blue, and gray. Oversized seating makes a lobby comfortable and inviting. The octagonal rug was cut from the same broadloom used in the rest of the building.

The client wanted tons of storage as well as display space.
